To appropriately honor the wondrous man and nurse he is and has always been, there will be A Nightingale Tribute, held under the Auspices of the Nurses Honor Guard, to show honor and respect to Samuel. This tribute will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 12, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek https://www.google.com/maps/search/8138+Miller+Road,+Swartz+Creek?entry=gmail&source=g , with the service immediately following (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed directly below Samuel's obituary here.

As a nurse, he dedicated his life and career to tending to people when they needed it most, even when he was the patient. He brought that same tenderness home, where he loved us with patience, humor, selflessness, and a steadiness that anchored our family. He enjoyed smoking cigars, going to car and tractor shows, camping with his wife, spending time with his family and attending the Port Huron to Mackinaw Boat Race.

Surviving are: his wife, Wendy; his children, Victoria Elizabeth (Alex) Schmidt of Fairfax, VA, Rebecca Carol Wolcott of Rochester Hills, Matthew Michael Smith, Jr. of Davison, Samuel Dutt Wolcott IV of Rochester Hills and Riley Dennis Smith of Davision; granddaughter, Sylvia Schmidt; sisters, Deborah (Jerry) Neuman of Camillus, NY, Carol Lynn (Tim) Olcott of Camillus, NY and his twin sister, Susan (Jim) Bahnick of Breingsville, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
