Serafino 'Sam' Salvati

SALVATI, Serafino Sam  Age 72, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton with Rev. Fr. William Wegher celebrant. Entombment will be held at Flint Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 12-4 and 6-9 PM Monday and Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint. A rosary will be prayed 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 9 AM until the time of mass Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Salvati was born May 15, 1931 in Italy, the son of Ippolito and Assunta (Valle) Salvati. He married Silvana Evangelsti on June 8, 1957 in Detroit. Mr. Salvati was owned and operated Sams Italian Restaurant in Rankin since 1973. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club of Rankin and the Sons of Italy. Surviving are: wife, Sylvia of Grand Blanc; daughter, Catherine Cathy Rinaldi of Grand Blanc; son, Frank and wife, Joanne Salvati of Fenton; five grandchildren, Karri Warren, Samantha Salvati, Daniela Rinaldi, Alecia Salvati and Stephanie Rinaldi; brother, Aldo Salvati of Grand Blanc.
