Sharon Kay (McLeod) Suffel beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025 surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She was 79.
The heart of her family, Sharon was a devoted matriarch whose greatest joy was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was the one who brought people together—whether it was over a holiday meal, a casual visit, or simply a fried chicken dinner.
She was known for her humor, sarcasm, and her unwavering love for her family. Her greatest pride was watching her family grow and proudly reached the milestone of over sixty immediate family members.
The youngest of 10, Sharon’s care was not just for her children, but also a deep and abiding love for her siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family. The bonds of family ran deep.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, fierce strength, and family traditions that will live on through those who loved her most: children Mike Ashley, Carrie (Jim) Foust, Matt Ashley, Christine (Keith Vore) Suffel, Cathy (Bo) Lee, Casandra (Brandon) Mead, and Kelly (Ray) Gruesbeck. No less beloved, she leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren and brother Don (Nancy) McLeod. She was preceded in death by husband Larry Lee Suffel, and siblings.
A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2025 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 Bristol Road, Flint. Pastor John Gilder will preside with interment following at 2:00 PM, Monday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
