RAMSEY, Shawn - age 52 of Swartz Creek, passed away unexpectedly on September 7 , 2024. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024, and from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to River Ramsey's college fund, as he plans on honoring his father's wishes to continue his education and attend pre-medical school. Born on June 10, 1972, in Sandusky, MI, he grew up with a strong sense of family and community that would resonate throughout his life. Shawn was a devoted and caring husband to Heather Ramsey and they were rarely if ever apart. He was also a proud father to his sons, River Ramsey, Kyle Franzel, and Timothy Wheeler III. He shared a special bond with each of them, treating his step-son as his own, embodying the essence of a protector and provider. Shawn's professional journey led him to become a Manager at Gordon Food Service in Flint, where he was respected by colleagues for his leadership and dedication. He graduated from Kingston High School with honors, showcasing his commitment to excellence early in life. Shawn's passions extended beyond work; he was an accomplished musician, a talented bass player and songwriter, whose musical contributions left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to hear him. In addition to his musical talents, Shawn was a proud football dad. He enjoyed being a part of the action as he joined the chain gang during football games, cheering for his son, River (his pride and joy) with unyielding enthusiasm. An avid hunter and fisherman, Shawn recently celebrated the thrill of shooting a trophy buck that would have made its place on Michigan Outdoors-a testament to his adventurous spirit. Shawn held a deep love for his family and friends. He is remembered by his mother, Shelia Hass, and his siblings-Trevor Baer, Melissa (Robert) Condie, Chris (Leona) Ramsey, and Kelly (Jay) Berry. He cherished the moments spent with his many nieces and nephews, always eager to share love and laughter. While Shawn's heart was full of love for his living family, he also remembered those who have passed, including his father-in-law, Ronald Vaneckhoutte, and step-father, Ronald Hass, among many other dear loved ones who are no longer with us. As we remember Shawn Ramsey, we celebrate his life, filled with love, music, and joyous memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy as a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend will forever be etched in our memories. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
