Schweinsberg, Sheila Anne - Age 91, formerly of Flint, passed away March 18, 2026.
Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM on Saturday, April 11. Those desiring may make contributions to the ASPCA - The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Sheila was born August 19, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of James S. Mitchell and Mildred I. (Davis) Mitchell. She studied at the Detroit Business School. She was a certified Comptometer operator. She then graduated from U of M having majored in Education and minored in Fine Arts. She also studied Fine Arts at Wayne State University. She was proud to have won First prize in the Watercolor category at a Detroit Art Exhibition. She loved to paint and was an avid reader. She was a special education teacher for the GCARC for 18 years and a substitute teacher for GISD for 8 years. Her father James Mitchell was a well known bagpiper in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Sheila was proud of her Scottish Heritage. She loved cats and chickens. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving are: her children, Donald S. (Amy) Johnson of Detroit, Sandra Johnson of Westland; step-children; Gregory Schweinsberg of Pinconning, Bradley (Stephanie) Schweinsberg of Irvine, California, Amy Schweinsberg of Rochester, New York; grandsons, Sean Johnson, Ethan Johnson; step-grandchildren, Jason, Jonathon, Michelle and Adriana; sister-in-law, Phyllis Mitchell; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents; two brothers, Ronald Mitchell and Brian Mitchell; husband of 25 years, Donald Gordon Johnson; and husband of 46 years, Kenneth Lee Schweinsberg.
