Sherrie L. Zerod, age 62, of Mancelona, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of the Funeral Service at 2pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Sherrie was born on May 8, 1963, in Flint, Michigan to the late Herman & Pauline (Grant) Lasley. She attended Swartz Creek High School. Sherrie was born with a carefree and wild spirit, she tried to live life to the fullest. Sherrie was somewhat of a thrill seeker, she was able to exercise this in her younger years as a Demo Powder Puff Girl for the Owosso Race Way. She continued this adventurous nature in life by tent camping, summer kayak trips, tubing and Jeep rides. She was along for the ride and loved to make others smile. She was the best at hunting for morel mushrooms every spring at her northern property. One of her life's passions was caring for animals. Up until about 6 years ago Sherrie owned Northern Husky Den, where she breed beautiful Huskies. A natural gift of Sherrie's was her creative mind, she was able to see the purpose and potential in all things. She was constantly re-purposing and creating artwork. She was a talented painter and even had her own painting business for many years. Above all Sherrie devoted herself to being a wife, mother and grandma. She will be missed for her heart of gold and love for adventure.
Sherrie is survived by her loving husband, Ben "Sparky" Zerod; son, Bobby (Krystal) Bushong; three precious granddaughters, Skye, Breyana and Makena and siblings, Jimmy (Patti) Lasley, Johnny Lasley and Tammey (Mark) Crist. Sherrie is further survived by many other dear nieces, nephews, family members and fur babies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Gamble, Nephew Cameron Lasley and many pets throughout the years.
