Sherry L. Ybarra

Sherry L. Ybarra, age 67, of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Visitation will be held at 11am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherry's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Sherry was born on August 11, 1957, in Flint, Michigan to Alphonso & Jo Ann (Spence) Ybarra. She graduated from Breaolinda High School, class of 1975. Sherry was employed with General Motors for 25 years. Most of her career was spent in the Paint Department.

In her retirement years Sherry started a small catering business from her home. This is something she did for her close friends and family. She truly enjoyed cooking and hosting family meals. Her most well-known dish were her tamales. Sherry volunteered in many community outlets to name a few; road cleanup crews and her most favorite The Detroit Zoo. She adored all animals and loved her cats dearly. She hosted movie nights for her friends and family for the series Outlander and SciFi movies. Above all Sherry kept her life full of hobbies she loved, volunteering, and making memories with friends and family.

She is survived by her father, Alphonso (Carol) Ybarra; stepfather, Dennis Szpara; sister, Dawn (Dennis) Ybarra; nieces, Katie (Kyle) Robinson, Stacy McLaren and Hannah Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Jo Ann Szpara and her aunt, Mary Brookshire.
