Shirley Allen

ALLEN, Shirley Mae - Age 93, of Swartz Creek, died June 24, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, June 29 at Sharp Funeral Homes 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 2-4PM and 6-8PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make contributions to American Red Cross or Swank Home Assisted Living. Shirley was born March 27, 1924 in Omaha, NE., The daughter of Frank H. and Nina (Worchester) Clendenin. She married Donald G. Allen on March 17, 1946 in Detroit. Shirley was a homemaker and volunteered for the American Red Cross for over 25 years. She also was a Girl Scout leader. Shirley enjoyed bowling, gardening, sewing, playing cards, and crafts. She is survived by her children, David (Linda) Allen, Phyllis (Rodger) Olson, Arthur (Roberta) Allen, Patricia Griffin, Donald (Jill) Allen Jr.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; two brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, Steve Griffin.
