CURRAN, Shirley May -- Age 81, of Flushing, died Saturday, October 6, 2012. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, October 9 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, Fr. Paul Schwermer celebrant. Entombment 1 PM Tuesday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and 10 AM until the time of mass Tuesday at church. Those desiring may contributions to the American Lung Association or McLaren Hospice. Shirley was born November 6, 1930 in Flint. She retired from Kettering University with 32 years of service. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. She loved spending time with family and friends, and camping for many years. Surviving are: husband of 63 years, Gerald B. Curran; five children, Richard (Christine) Curran of Traverse City, Kathryn (Robert) Wills of Flushing, Denise (Hamid) Elmi of Traverse City, Shelly (William) Suttles of Gilroy, CA, David (Amy) Curran of Fenton; thirteen grandchildren; fifteeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Ralph (Bonnie) Cribbs, Sharon (Tim) Stamm. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Edward and Martha Cribbs; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Beatice Curran.
