Shirley Irene REESE

REESE, Shirley Irene - Age 73, of Fenton, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Pastor Jim Wiegand officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Shirley was born March 26, 1937 in Scottville, the daughter of Wheeler and Mildred (Stewart) Ferris. She married David John Reese June 10, 1955 in Indiana and he preceded her in death September 8, 2002. She had worked 18 years at Rockwell Assisted Living in Fenton. Surviving are: 2 daughters, Sandy and husband Greg Kern of Lansing and Cindy and husband Jeff Binns of Linden; 3 sons, Jerry and wife Michele Reese of Linden, Bill and wife Sue Reese of Lake Fenton and Steve and wife Janice Reese of Flint; daughter-in-law, Teresa Reese of Flint; 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Lillian and husband Elmer Courtland of Scottville; 2 sisters-in-law, Hazel Reese of Manistee and Jan Ferris of Flint; companion, Dick Mrock of Carleton; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by parents; son, Rick Reese; 3 brothers, Wheeler, Bob and Don Ferris. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor.
