Shirley Teffner

TEFFNER, Shirley Maxine - Age 91, of Fenton, died Thursday, January 26, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM and Monday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Shirley was born April 19, 1925 in Wexford, the daughter of Thomas and Marvel (Hickey) Harrison. She was a 1945 graduate of Flint Tech High School and she received a Associates Degree in Journalism from Mott Community College. She married James Teffner January 3, 1946 in Flint and he preceded her in death January 9, 1997. She retired in 1992 from the Fenton Independent as a Journalist. Shirley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She also was a member of Fenton Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and a member and secretary of Fenton Beautification Committee. Surviving are: children, Dennis "Mike" and wife Rita Teffner of Linden, Patrick and wife Cindy Teffner of Gladwin, Linda and husband Pat Thomas of Byron, Judy Haas of Linden, David and wife Laura Teffner of Linden, Mark and wife Penny Teffner of Fenton, Mary and husband Robert Folts of Lake Orion, Anne and husband Ken Donakowski of Petoskey, Lisa and husband Brian Bellinger of Fenton, and Jim Teffner and Vicky Wagner of Flint; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
