Sidney Struble

STRUBLE, Sidney "Sid" Allen - Age 84, of Flushing, died Thursday December 20, 2018. Sid was born in Flint, the son of the late Milton and Ann Mae (Cohoon) Struble. He married Eleanor Ann Shieck in Flint on January 18, 1958 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint, where he became a member. Sid proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Cold War and was stationed at the Redstone Arsenal, Nike Missile base in Huntsville Alabama from 1957 to 1959. He then served in the U.S. Army Corps Reserves from1959-1963. He graduated from GMI. Sid retired from the General Motors V-8 engine Plant with 39 years of service working in skilled trades . He enjoyed boating and camping and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Surviving are: wife of 60 years, Eleanor Struble of Flushing; daughters, Cheryl Struble-Frelow of NY, Linda (Dennis) Hennells of Canton, MI. grandchild, Amanda(Christian) Hennells of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Gordon Shieck; nieces, Vicki Shieck, Valerie Machain and Jennifer Shieck. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law Adrienne Shieck. No services will be held. Interment at Edwards Cemetery, West Branch Michigan.
