Stella Ann (Pirozek) Black

BLACK, Stella Ann (Pirozek) - Age 98, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Linden, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Adopt-A-Pet, Fenton

Stella was born November 10, 1926 in Detroit, the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Pilat) Pirozek. She was a graduate of Mackenzie High School in Detroit and attended Detroit Institute of Technology. She married Thomas Black September 4, 1954 in Detroit and he preceded her in death March 28, 1996. Stella retired from Flight Tool Company in Highland. She was a former member of Hope Lutheran Church in Linden and Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda. She also was a former member of Spring Meadows Country Club in Linden. Stella enjoyed reading, playing bridge and golf, and traveling with her sister-in-law, Yvonne.

Surviving are: her children, Joyce (Steven) Katona of Fenton and Jill (Robert) Hedtler of Oxford; step-children, Barbara Adams of Northville, Thomas (Theresa) Black of Harrison Township and Robert (Linda) Black of Drummond Island; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Irvin of Troy; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judith Vanderpool; son, James Irvin; brothers, Edward and Stanley Pirozek; and step-son-in-law, Dr. Paul Adams. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
