Susan Hungerford

HUNGERFORD, Susan Carol - Age 85, of Flint, died Thursday, November 30, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, December 9, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 Saginaw St., Flint. Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating. Visitation will be held 6PM-9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held from 1PM until time of service at the church. Susan was born in Flint, the daughter of the late Donald and Louise (Stewart) Reish. She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church. She married Gerald Lloyd Hungerford in Flint on August 9, 1963 and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. Susan was a graduate of Flint Central High School and Hurley School of Nursing. She worked for St. Joseph Hospital, McLaren- Flint and Hurley Hospital during her career and retired from GM SPO as a nurse in the medical department. In her retirement, Susan volunteered with other members of the church at Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary School as a first-grade reading tutor. To honor her volunteer service, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Flint and designate the DTM School Fund. Surviving are: children, Raeanne Kummer of NC, Barbara (Brett) Heintzman of Swartz Creek, Brian (Veronique) Hungerford of Grand Blanc, Tom (Ami) Hungerford of Grandville; grandchildren, Stephen (Lauren) Kummer, Morgan Hungerford, Graham Hungerford, Drew Hungerford and Samuel Hungerford.
