Susan Jean Steck

Susan Jean Steck, age 90, of Linden, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 12:30PM Monday, January 12, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden. Visitation will be held from 11AM until the time of service.

Susan was born on May 25, 1935, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Griffith) Baumann. She met Stanley Steck while they were attending Michigan State and they married on June 25, 1957, in Racine, WI. They raised their children in Union Lake and spent summers traveling to visit family. One of their favorite places was Door County, WI. Stanley preceded her in death on May 17, 2025.

Susan had been a resident of Linden since 1978. Following retirement, she and Stanley spent their winters in Briny Breezes, Florida. She was a past member of Spring Meadows Country Club and taught swimming at the YMCA for many years. Susan enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and lovingly creating afghans for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Eric Steck; Lisa (Gary) Buel; Kurt (Annette) Steck; and Stanley Paul (Kali) Steck IV; grandchildren: Racheal, Matthew, Patrick, Stephen, Derek, Megan, and Samantha; great-grandchildren: Daisy, Piper, Grant, Landon, and Layla; siblings: Joey (Lynn) Ledford, Griff (Susan) Baumann, Mary (Russ) Harig, and Gretchen Hove; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy.
