Susan Kay Mason, passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on September 19th, 1956 to Betty and Charles Tomek. Susan grew up in Fenton where she built lifelong roots.
She lived a life defined by what she loved most: her family, her friends, and the water. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a rare gift for making others feel welcomed and cared for. Whether through an open door, home cooked meal, or contagious laughter, Susan had a way of turning ordinary moments into long lasting memories. No one ever left her presence with an empty stomach or unshared smile.
Amid the joyful chaos of gathering with friends and family, Susan could be found tucked in a beach chair and lost in a book with the comforting sounds of water nearby. These moments brought her peace and reflected the thoughtful spirit that so many came to cherish.
Susan’s legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the laughter she shared so easily, and the deep sense of belonging she created for those around her. She will be remembered fondly and missed at every quiet sunset by the lake.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel and Anthony Mason; and granddaughter Kylee Mason
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Susan’s memory to Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton, an organization close to her heart, where she enjoyed volunteering her time alongside her granddaughter.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
