Susan Jane Young

Susan Jane Young, age 92, of Linden, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2026.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton, with Fr. David Harvey, Celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Linden Historical Society. 

Susan was born on October 18, 1933, in Pinckney, Michigan, the beloved daughter of Andrew Burton and Edna Frances (Kingsley) Campbell. On November 10, 1951, she married the love of her life, Richard Young, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned nearly 70 years. 

A longtime resident of Linden, Susan was deeply involved in her community and faith. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and participated in the Befriender Ministry and CCW. She was also a proud member of the Linden Historical Society. Susan was an avid reader and lifelong learner, but above all, her greatest joy and proudest legacy were her children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Andrew (Barbara) Young, James (Mary) Young, Jeffrey Young, and Elizabeth (Amanda) Young; her son-in-law, David Norton; 16 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard Young on January 4, 2021; her daughter, Jennifer Norton; and her son, Christopher Young.
