HUGHES, Thelma Gladys Irene (Wilhite) - Age 75, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Mark Lasley officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Thelma Hughes Memorial Fund. Thelma was born March 12, 1935 in Flint, the daughter of Amos and Jennie (Wilson) Wilhite. She was a 1953 graduate of Hoover High School in Flint. She married Richard George Hughes May 30, 1953 in Flint. Thelma had resided in Swartz Creek since 1973 coming from Flint. Surviving are: husband, Richard; 7 children, Rickey and wife Debbie Hughes of Flint, Cindy Bombe of Flint, Richard W. and wife Debbie Hughes of Flint, Penny and husband Jim Neddermeyer of Durand, Tracy and husband Dave Pratt of Burton, Marcy Hughes of Flint, Amy and husband James Deloney of Flint; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister, Alma Clark of Swartz Creek; brother, Kenneth Wilhite of Flint; several nieces and nephews.
