YURK, Theodore Henry "Ted" - Age 86 of Flushing, passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, June 12, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (the service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Ted's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Brent Kriesch officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. Ted was born January 30, 1940 in Flint, the son of Henry and Bertha (Weber) Yurk. He was a 1958 graduate of Flint Northern High School, received an MBA from The University of Michigan, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. For the past 56 years he has resided in Flushing, where he raised the family who is honored to have had him at its center. Ted married Sandra Kotwicki on September 12, 1986 in Flint, and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2022.Ted retired from General Motors/EDS as a Systems Analyst. He was a member of Faith Missionary Church in Flint, and was a member and past president of the Flint Chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR). He was an avid skier, an advocate for nature and all of its creatures, and an antique auto enthusiast. He lived a life of gratitude and will always be remembered as a loving and loyal son, husband, father, grandfather, cousin, and friend.Surviving are: his daughters, Marcy Yurk of Linden, Amy Sheibar of Ann Arbor, and Tiffany Juhl of Flushing; grandchildren, Kira Sheibar, Donavan "DJ" Sheibar, Lucas (Theresa) Juhl, Matthew Juhl, and Noah Juhl. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bertha Yurk.
