Thomas Ared BENNETT

BENNETT, Thomas Ared Jr. - Age 98, died August 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Pastor David King officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9 AM until the time of service Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to Salvation Army. Thomas was born July 28, 1915 in Texas City, TX, the son of Thomas Ared and Sally Alma (Blaine) Bennett. He was married to Kathryn I. Laird on October 20, 1940. Mr. Bennett retired from General Motors in 1974 after 25 years of service. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and loved playing golf, he continued to play until age 92. Surviving are: son, Dr. Thomas A. Bennett, III of Providence, RI; daughter, Linda (Rick) Tippett of Toledo, OH; two grandchildren, Lisa (Christopher) Mohr and Michelle Druhot; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Druhot, Brennan Druhot, Conner Mohr, Gavin, Mohr, and Kailyn Druhot; many nieces and nephews.
