Thomas Ernest GOODROE

GOODROE, Thomas Ernest - Age 83, of Flushing, died January 29, 2014. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 12-8 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Thomas was born September 12, 1930 in Sterling MI, the son of Glenn and Lorraine (Savage) Goodroe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was married to Betty Jane Viele on September 19, 1953 in Flint. He retired from GM-Chevrolet in 1985 with 35 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion. Thomas is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Peter (Donna) Goodroe of Gaines, Terri Weiss of Flushing, Robert Goodroe of Flushing, John Goodroe of Flushing; 8 grandchildren, Kristin, Michelle, Jake, Tommy, Tony, Michael, Angie (Jason), Patricia; 5 great-grandchildren, Drew, Joel, Cecillia, Kellen, Devon; brother, Eugene (Pearl) Goodroe of Davison; sisters, Lorraine (Glen) Archambeau of Tawas, Eve Fisher of MN, Hazel (Jim) White of TX, Lee (Nick) Owen of Flushing, Kathy (Dwight) Dehner of Engadine; many nieces and nephews.
