HUMENCHICK, Thomas Jay - Age 67, of Fenton, passed away, Wednesday, January 10, 2024.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton (A live stream of the service will be available on Tom's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. David Harvey celebrant.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 11AM - 2PM and 5PM - 8 PM and at church Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass.  A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home 7 PM Tuesday. There will be a celebration of life luncheon at 1 PM Wednesday following the Mass, details to be announced at the Mass.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/

Tom was born February 27, 1956 in Detroit, the son of Peter and Romana Marie (Wall) Humenchick.  He was a 1974 graduate of Henry Ford High School in Detroit.  He married Hildegard Bieler in 2012.  He had resided in Fenton for the past 23 years coming from Howell.  Tom retired after 30 years from GM Flint Tool and Die Plant #38 in Flint as a Die Maker.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  He enjoyed playing pickelball, golfing, cards, horseback riding, hiking, woodworking, gardening, bicycling, tennis, ping pong and hockey.  He was a man of adventure who also enjoyed sharing his love of sports and hobbies with his family and friends as well as hosting Sunday BBQ's for his family.  

Surviving are: his wife, Hildegard; children, Jason (Barb) Humenchick of North Carolina, Andrea (Paul Rogers) Humenchick of Brighton, Scott (Amy) Humenchick of Macomb, Kim Wolfgang of Fenton and Jessica (Christopher Morehead) Cobb of Traverse City; grandchildren, Arthur, Andrew, Emilee, Jaden, Bryce, Lulie and Willow; siblings, Stephen (Marge) Humenchick of Florida, Maureen (Larry) Bishop of New Lothrup, Corrine (Dave) Balagna of Howell and Claire (Joe) Keegan of Walled Lake; and several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Romana Humenchick.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
