Thomas Sovia

Sovia, Thomas Jay - Age 70, of Gaines, died February 17, 2019. Services will be held 2 PM Monday, February 25 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be 1 PM until the time of service Monday. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Thomas was born on February 21, 1948 the son of Kenneth and Bessie Ann (Nold) Sovia. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Sherry Massey in Flint on August 12, 1972; they just celebrated 45 years of marriage. He worked at General Motors -Metal Fab for 30 years retiring in 2005. He enjoyed painting, fishing, golfing, watching sports, working puzzle books and woodworking. Surviving are wife, Sherry; daughter, Marcy (Todd) Haggerty of Grand Blanc; three grandchildren, Dylan, Kory and Ryan; brother, Rick (Florence) Sovia; special cousins Bob and Diane Salisbury.
