Thomas "Tom" Frederick

Thomas "Tom" L. Frederick, age 83, of Fenton, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street in Fenton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, starting 4PM until the Rosary & Knights of Columbus Service at 7PM at Sharp Funeral Home, 1000 Silver Lake Road in Fenton. Visitation will resume on Thursday, December 29, 2022, starting at 10AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Tom was born on May 12, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Leo (Mary) Frederick. He graduated from Redford Union High School. He was a District Sales Manager in the electronics industry and in his retirement worked at Stevens Furniture. Tom married the love of his life, Gerry Rothwell on September 12, 1959, and they raised their family and lived in the Fenton area since 1976. Tom was an active member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Fenton. He is a 3rd and 4th degree Knight of Columbus, taught Catechism courses and was a Eucharistic Minister. Tom enjoyed singing greatly and was a part of the New Century Chorale and the Singing Knights of Michigan. His favorite musician was Elvis, he even participated in several karaoke competitions.

Tom and Gerry traveled to Florida during the winter months where they enjoyed playing golf. In his younger years Tom ran the The Crim for 7 consecutive years. Tom was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and loved to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. He enjoyed his time spent on Lake Fenton and Detroit Tigers baseball, but above all he cherished time with his family. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for his charismatic personality.

Tom leaves behind his loving wife, Gerry; 4 children, Cheryl (Brian) Moore, Tom Jr. (Cheryl) Frederick, Jeanette ( Pete) Witten and Kim Frederick (Jim DeCastro); 11 grandchildren, PJ Witten, Danielle (Derek) Justice, Travis (Mary) Dawes, Kristen (Matt) Krile, Kyle (Alex) Witten, Brent (Justin) Frederick-Leonti, Alex Dawes (Jennifer Sheckler), Mitchell Dawes, Randy Moore (Paige Conlin), Jacqueline Witten and Kaitlyn Frederick and 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way.  He is further survived by many other dear family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Barbara, Phil and Helen.
