Timothy Allen Styes, affectionately known as Tim, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at the age of 61. Tim was the beloved husband of Terri, devoted father of Arron (Lindsay) and Benjamin (Megan) and adoring grandfather of Landon, Alliya, Addi, and Emmi. Preceded in death by his father Jack and brothers David and Lee. He is also survived by his loving mother Katharyne, brother Greg (Marilyn) Melvin, sister Susan Melvin, sister Jeanne Belcher, brother Lon (Stephanie) Styes, brother Steven Styes, brother-in-law Jim (Connie) Charboneau, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
Tim met the love of his life, Terri Charboneau, and married on June 28, 1997, on Mackinac Island in the Little Stone Church. They celebrated many anniversaries with memorable returns to the Island. Together, they built a wonderful home and raised two fine young men. They enjoyed many adventures traveling to wonderful locations including Caribbean destinations throughout their marriage. Together they enjoyed the true, deep love that exemplified what we strive to achieve with our soul mates.
Tim was a professional plumber in the Fenton area for over 30 years, who learned the trade from his father and went on to own and operate the successful business, Styes Plumbing, that he and Jack operated together for many years prior to his father's retirement. Tim had strong relationships with many fantastic industry friends, colleagues, and long-standing clients and the community at large. He was an avid golfer who loved to vacation with family and friends, deer hunt with family, and snowmobile. He truly enjoyed every moment spent with his family and friends. Tim hosted an annual golf outing in northern Michigan enjoyed by many. He and Terri regularly hosted many holiday dinners and gatherings. Tim will also be remembered as a lifelong fan of great music and movies, and faithful supporter of the Detroit Lions and University of Michigan Wolverines.
Those who knew Tim will remember a man who was always present, attentive, enjoyed life, was very compassionate and generous, extremely loyal and laughed with his friends and family and was a man who freely helped anyone in need without hesitation. His legacy lives on in his cherished family and friends, their traditions, and the countless lives he brightened. He will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held this summer, and will be announced at a later date.
