Tommie Virgil Franks

FRANKS, Tommie Virgil - Age 74, of Linden, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025. A Celebration of Tommie's Life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at his daughter, Shannon's home, 7561 Munsell Road, Howell, MI 48843. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family, they can be dropped off at the service or mailed to 11515 Koth Dr., Linden, MI 48451.

Tommie was born May 13, 1951 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Tommy Jerry and Rosie Mae (Nutt) Franks. He was a 1969 graduate of Hamady High School; and he attended Gateway College of Evangelism, Springfield, MO. He married Danette Marie Gould November 20, 1976 in Swartz Creek. He retired in 2001 from GM Buick after 31 years of service. Tommie was a member of U.A.W. Local #599. He had his own bands including, Krystal Kleer, Joy Ride and the Tommie Franks Band; he recorded a song "Buick City Blues".

Surviving are: his wife, Danette; daughter, Shannon Marie Edwards (Chris Johnston) of Howell; son, Tommie Virgil Franks, Jr. (Heather) of Linden; grandchildren, Jesse and Savannah Franks, Hailee Johnston and Logan Edwards; siblings, Terry Franks (Wendy) of Swartz Creek, Tory Maxwell (Eric) of Clio and Tim Franks (Juli) of St. Helen; several nieces and nephews; and his furbaby, Roxie.
