Gillman, Tommie Dean - Age 87, of Gladwin, died April 2, 2025. Services will be held Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 600 M-18, Gladwin, MI, with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Those desiring may make contributions to Christ the King Lutheran Church. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden.
Tommie was born March 9, 1938 in Palo Alto County, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Pearl (Packard) Gillman. He married Catherine (Katie) Briedert on August 12, 1967. They lived in Pocahontas, Iowa before moving to Gladwin, Michigan in 1979. Katie preceded him in death February 19, 2021. Tom served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked for many years at Brown Machine in Beaverton MI. After leaving Brown Machine, Tom got involved with Mission Builders. He and Katie then traveled the country building and remodeling churches. Tom was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Gladwin and spent time volunteering there. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping.
Surviving are: children, Dawn (Jim) Blackburn, Paul (Amy) Gillman, Marc (Kathy) Gillman; grandchildren, Elinda, Jennifer, Kristie, Frankie, Patrick, Michael, James, Elizabeth, William, Alexander, Catherine, Dean, and John; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Pearl; his wife, Catherine; and his siblings, Clifford, Beatrice, Maxine, Paul, and Bob.
