Tommy Sogbfai Stevens

Dr Tommy Sogbafi Stevens- Age 85, of Grand Blanc, passed away on June 25, 2026. Dates for funeral service and visitation are pending. Details will be announced at a later date.

Tommy was born on June 11, 1941, in Kpangbaya, Sierra-Leone, to the late Thomas Julius Stevens and Sarah Flickinger. Dr. Stevens earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, where he later ran the Emergency Room before working in his community as a family practitioner.

He was a high school soccer star, lifelong tennis and soccer fan, and a passionate golfer. His travels took him across the globe to all seven continents and included a memorable trip to St. Andrews in Scotland. He was the life of the party, always ready with a great joke, a love for music and a joy for dancing.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Edelen); daughters, Andrea, Kendra, Boi-Tia and Simbiti; grandchildren, Andre and Amiyah; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Everly, Zaleel and Kahlil; and several close friends, relatives and colleagues.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Augustine and Daniel.
