Verna Eileen HILL

HILL, Verna Eileen, age 96, of Linden, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at home. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Old Newsboys. Verna was born January 6, 1916 in Thetford Twp. the daughter of the late Russell and Verna (Davis) Crawford. She married Francis Keith Hill on June 12, 1937 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1977. Verna was a family oriented person. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her family. Verna took the time to be with those she loved, and they in turn loved her dearly. Surviving are her 3 daughters, Janice Bolton of Farmington Hills, Gail Arnold (Jim Ford) of Grand Blanc, Beverly Sharp (Jim) of Linden; 4 grandchildren, Marcia Slatin (Paul), Douglas Bolton (Gity), Jeff Arnold (Velvet), Cindy Stratton; 7 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Julia Slatin, Kathryn and Diana Bolton, Ashleigh and Abbigail Arnold, Tyler Stratton; former son-in-law, Gene Bolton; 2 sisters, Shirley Perkins, Audrey Miles; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Warren Hostetler; siblings, Nathaniel, Inga, Ethelda "Luddy", Russell "Dee", and Martha Geraldine "Gerry".
