Vernon Weeden

WEEDEN , Vernon Leroy - Age 94, of Flint, died June 23, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 26 at Hope United Methodist Church, 4467 Beecher Rd., Flint, Pastor Carol Blair Bouse officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 1-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and one hour before the funeral at the church on Thursday. Vernon was born September 3, 1919 in Tuscola County MI the son of Roy and Nora (Berry) Weeden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He worked for Complete Auto Transit for 29 years retiring in 1976. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church , VFW Post 5666 of Flushing, and Teamsters #332. Mr. Weeden is survived by : James (Mary) Weeden of Davison, Jerry (Terry) Weeden of Fenton, Dick (Linda) Leineke of North Carolina, Kay (Chuck) Baker; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great- great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend Kitty. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Delores, Billie, and Ethel; brother, Merritt; sister Irene Becraft.; and great-grandchildren, Christopher and infants, Chloe and Jason.
