EDWIN, Vicki Denise- Age 64, of Swartz Creek, died June 29, 2017. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Monday July 3 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Visitation will take palace Sunday 4-8 PM and Monday 2 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's disease), or the Humane Society of Genesee County. Vicki was born in Flint, MI on June 27, 1953 the daughter of Richard G. Hon and the late Barbara J. (Fogelberg) McGilvery. Vicki graduated from Carman High School Class of 1971. She continued her studies at Ross Medical Education Center. Vicki had numerous jobs throughout her lifetime, but the banking industry is the path she chose to make her career. She was a dedicated employee at Financial Plus Credit Union, retiring in 2015 with 23 years of service. She was a member of OPEIU Local 393. She valued the many friends she encountered at work, and looked forward to the monthly gatherings at her home. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, keen intellect, wisdom, and sincere generosity. She showed incredible strength of character throughout her journey of life, quietly trusting Jesus with her life and death. Among her many interests she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, sewing Halloween costumes for her daughter and granddaughter, jigsaw puzzles, reading, collecting cookbooks, and most of all - watching television. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a very devoted Nana. She raised her beloved granddaughter, Naome Edwin, giving her a stable and loving home. Vicki is survived by daughter Elena (aka Carla) and husband Lee Parker, 4 grandchildren: Naome Edwin; Logan, Emma, and Lily Parker; father Richard G. Hon; brother Charles and wife Megan Edgar, nephews Brandon, Blane, and Brock Edgar; sisters-in-law Alexis Snediker; Leslie (Victor) McKinsey; niece Starla Drews; uncle Jerry Miller, cousins: Robin, Angie, Edith, Jennifer, Jamie, Jared, Chad, Tonya, Larry and family. Vicki maintained a loving bond and special friendship with ex-husband and caregiver Ronald Edwin, longtime friends Ray and Margaret Krajniak, her special and devoted friend Cindy Schabel, as well as many other relatives and friends. Her beloved lap companion Bella will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara; stepfather Robert McGilvery; father Ralph Edgar; stepmother Fleta Edgar, and brother Jon Edgar.
