Vickie Warner, age 71, of Byron, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held 12pm - 4pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at The Masonic Lodge #80, 101 S. Saginaw Street in Byron. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the family to assist with the cost of funeral arrangements. Vickie was born on August 17, 1954, in Athens, Alabama to the late George & Barbara (McMeanes) Smith. She graduated from Beecher High School, class of 1973. Vickie was employed at Meijer in Owosso were she worked in data systems; which she retired from to raise her granddaughter. Vickie married the love of her life and best friend, Gregg A. Warner on July 2, 1995. Their story began on a Pinball League and Vickie asked Gregg out for dinner and the rest is history. Vickie was an excellent cook who is best known for her Chili and chocolate chip cookies. By nature, Vickie was a caring individual. She loved her family deeply and always had a soft spot in her heart for animals as she cared for many throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Gregg Warner; son, John Henry Chambers Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Johnny Chambers and Mattie Chambers; great-grandson, Ezra Chambers; sister, Candace (Douglas) Morgan; brother, Joe (Gale) Smith and her three dogs, Tazz, Saddie and Luna. Vickie is further survived by her uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews and other dear family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Marie Chambers; granddaughter, Vickie Marie Chambers; stepfather, Dwitt Garrett and brother, Benjamin Smith.
