Victor Roxas Castro was welcomed home into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 17, 2026 at his home in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He is preceded by his parents, Fernando and Aurelia and his daughter Joanne. He is survived and will be dearly missed by Dorothy and their children Aureli, Jerome and Ayesha, his sisters Aurora, Elmira, and Leilah and his brother Joseph, his grandchildren Seth, Emma, Benjie, Miggy, Nikki, Madi, and Jerome Fernando and his great nieces and nephews.

Victor’s earthly life began April 28, 1945 in Plaridel, Bulacan in the Philippine Islands. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Manila, Philippines in 1965 from Far Eastern University, Institute of Arts & Sciences, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. During his studies he worked as a mathematics teacher and as a statistician. After his education, he worked in marketing in the automotive industry in the Philippines at Volkswagen, OPEL, Chrysler, and Mitsubishi, including as a General Manager and Vice President of Sales for Chrysler and Mitsubishi. In 1982, he emigrated to the United States, living and working in the Bay Area of California in real estate and loans, for Office Depot, and for H&R Block. In 2011, he moved to Grand Blanc, Michigan and continued to work at H&R Block. He never stopped being a student, always eager to learn something new.

Victor’s passions included sports (especially golf) and music. He enjoyed singing in the choir (keeping pace with the basses in sing-along performances of Handel’s Messiah), listening to classical music (especially Beethoven), and actively concert goer throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his sister Aurora and his nephew, Dr. Ramon Raneses and his family and visited his sisters and daughter living in North America as often as possible. He is fondly remembered for being an excellent conversationalist, for being interested in everything, for his fastidious organization, and for his faith in Christ. 

A funeral service will be held commemorating his life at 2pm on July 28 Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48507. The service will also be live streamed and can be viewed via the link at the base of Mr. Castro's obituary at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. The Rev. Dr. Paul Ytterock officiating. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Flint or Grand Blanc United Methodist Church.
