Virginia Theresa (Blazo) Laur

Virginia Theresa (Blazo) Laur - Age 79, of Fenton, passed away August 19, 2025. Services will be held 4 PM Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 1 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM Saturday September 6.

Virginia was born February 2, 1946 in Lapeer, Michigan, the daughter of Howard and Theresa (Calvelli) Blazo. She was the oldest of eight children. Virginia attended Bishop Kelly Catholic Grade School and Lapeer High School Class of 1964. From 1959 to 1964 she played the organ and sang daily for the morning Mass at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lapeer. After high school she worked 44 years in title insurance for Cislo Title in Flint.

Virginia married Randy Laur in 1969. They had one son Matthew Laur, and then three grandchildren, Ariel, Larken, and Macy. She greatly enjoyed travel throughout the United States and cruises to foreign lands. Virginia also enjoyed the grandkids in their sports and marching bands. Two of her grandkids were members of The University of Kentucky Wildcats bands for football and basketball. She was elected twice as a precinct delegate in Livingston County to do her civic duty.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Laur; son, Matthew Laur (Julee Overmyer Laur); three grandchildren, Ariel, Larken, and Macy; siblings, Mike Blazo, Josie Hyde, Angie Carpenter, Barbara Danzer, Louis Blazo and Cathy Logan. She is also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Theresa; and youngest brother, Howard Blazo III.
