Panek,Virginia (Taeckens) "Ginnie" - Age 70, of Grand Blanc, passed away in her home on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of her Life will be held 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Flushing County Park 4417 N. McKinley Road, Flushing. In keeping with her wishes and her love for everything outdoors, gatherers are asked to dress casual and enjoy a potluck picnic in the pavilion. Ginnie was born on March 28, 1947 in Flint, to Clarence and Jean Taeckens. She worked for Genesee County Sheriff's Department retiring after many years of service. Her biggest passions in life were travel and nature and she pursued profound adventures in China, Africa, Costa Rica and in her beloved Michigan, too. Ginnie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Taeckens. She leaves behind two sisters Grace Rose and Geraldine Taeckens; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Patrick Miller; daughter, Molly Panek; son and daughter-in-law, Tom II and Laura Panek; and daughter Jennifer Dover. She leaves behind precious memories in the hearts of ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her last expressed wish was that in lieu of flowers, friends and family should fine someone in financial need and help them personally. Love one another.
