Pitman, Virginia Lee - Age 85, formerly of Fenton, passed away May 29, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday, June 4, 2026 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Visitation will be held 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 and from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Thursday at the church. Virginia was born on August 21, 1940, in Detroit, the daughter of Edward and Rose (Flach) Britt. She married Jack Gordon Pitman on April 8, 1972, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2022. Virginia worked for 20 years as an Executive Secretary at Atlas Technologies. She loved reading and crocheting and was known for her generous and charitable spirit. Virginia especially supported local pregnancy centers, Coats for Kids, and the American Cancer Society. She was a caring woman who found great joy in helping others and making a difference in their lives. Surviving are: four children, Pamela (Todd) Davis of Perry, MI, Linda (Joe) Hicks of Holiday, FL, Angela Toppings of Singapore, and Steve (Kim) Pitman of Fenton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Harvey and Rose Elizabeth Britt, Husband, Jack G. Pitman; and brother, Bishop Kevin Britt.
