Vivian Jane Bahr, age 91, of Byron, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in Perry. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest of Shiawassee County in memory of Vivian Bahr.
Vivian was born on May 19, 1934, in Swartz Creek to the late Harry Sr. and Bessie (Wernowski) Beard. She married Roger Bahr on February 29, 1956, in Angola, Indiana. Together they shared a long and loving marriage, raising a family and building a life centered around faith and community. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 28, 2023.
Vivian was a devoted member of the former Old-Fashioned Baptist Church in Vernon. She lived in the Byron area for most of her life, moving there in 1960. She enjoyed donating her time at Fenton Extended Care with her sister-in-law, Priscilla Beard. Vivian loved to travel with her “Thelma and Louise” partner, sister-in-law Beverly Hunt. They took many trips together, from California to the East Coast. She also cherished visiting family and friends on many travels with her husband.
She is survived by her beloved children, Sidney Bahr, Joan Peacock, and Rhonda (John) Wineland; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her seven siblings.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Devine Living Center of Perry, the staff of Residential Hospice, as well as the special ladies she dined with-Doris, Nancy K., and Nancy J.
