Ducharme, Walter - Age 90, formerly of Flint Township, died July 14, 2019 at home peacefully with his family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM July 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church 4413 Morrish Rd. Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, July 16, and 3-8 PM Wednesday, July 17 with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM followed by a Knights of Columbus service at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of mass Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Powers Catholic High School or Knight of Columbus # 0510. Walter was born May 19, 1929, the son of Ray and Alverna (Prentice) Ducharme. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He married E. Maxine Jakiemiec on September 15, 1951 in Flint, she preceded him in death on May 29, 2005. Walter worked for the City of Flint for 25 years as a Construction Inspector before retiring in 1994. He was a former member of All Saints Catholic Church and member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus 3rd degree #695, and 4th degree #0510, PLAV Post #8, American Legion Post 64. He was also a member of Dom Polski, and P.A.R.A. Retiree's Group, Flint Bowler's 700 Club, Flint Senior Bowler's, Flint Bowling Hall Of Fame. Walter is survived by his children: Bob (Trisha) Ducharme of Rochester, Wally (Jan) Ducharme of Grand Blanc, Fred (Angie) Ducharme of Gaylord, Dan Ducharme of Flushing, Bill (Linda) Ducharme of Pompano, FL, Tim (Beth) Ducharme of Durand, Nancy (Dale) Jacob of Gaylord. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Muriel Louise; wife; grandson, Kyle; sons, Richard and Jim.
