STANCZYK, Walter John, Sr. - Age 88, of Fenton, died Thursday, January 31, 2013. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Entombment at Tyrone Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Fenton. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton and at church Monday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. A vigil service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Walter was born January 26, 1925 in Detroit, the son of Stanley and Maryann (Torzewski) Stanczyk. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He had resided in the Fenton area for the past 38 years. Walter retired from Meier Metal Service in Hazel Park as a Salesman after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton American Legion, League of Polish Veterans, Grand Blanc Senior Center, and the Loose Senior Center in Linden. Surviving are: 6 children, Walter J. Stanczyk, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Sterling Heights, Michael R. Stanczyk of Denver, CO, Patricia A. Dunkel of Fenton, Donna M. Linn and husband John of Coral Springs, FL, A. Drew Colvin of Margate, FL, and Pamela D. Pleasant of Lone Lane, MO; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Helen Cook of Arizona; 2 brothers, Bill Stanczyk and wife Betty of Birmingham and John Stanczyk and wife Patricia of Centerline; several nieces and nephews.
