Wanda Lee Cummings

Wanda Lee Cummings, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at her residence. She was 64 years old.

Born October 26, 1960 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was the daughter of James Willard and Kathryn Celia (Cocker) Phares. Wanda worked for many years in the schools in Swartz Creek and found her calling working with kids, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family at her cabin up north, but most of all she loved spending time with her three grandchildren, Emory, Lillian and Cooper.

Wanda is survived by her husband Michael Cummings; her three sons Benjamin Cummings and his wife Maggie and their children, Emory and Lillian; Samuel Cummings and his wife Sara and their son Cooper; and Maxwell Cummings and his wife Carynne; two sisters, Susan Hauer and her husband Michael and Nancy Jensch and her husband Tom, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on ThursdayJuly 24, 2025 from 3:00-5:00pm at Sharp Funeral Home, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473 . A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm. Friends are invited to share reflections during the service. There will be a reception to follow at the Swartz Creek American Legion Hall.
