Wayne Van House

Wayne Van House, age 83, of Linden, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 3:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Wayne’s memory are encouraged to plant a tree.

Wayne was born on June 29, 1942, in Detroit, the son of the late Russell W. and Helen (Svenson) Van House. He dedicated many years to teaching at Swartz Creek Schools before his retirement, leaving a lasting impact on his students and community.

Wayne found great joy in cheering on University of Michigan sports, and he was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He loved spending time with a good book and had a special affection for animals.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Ann Marie; his children, Mark (Kay) Van House, Mindy (David) Cronister, and Paula (Ken) Miller; his grandchildren, Christopher (Nikki) Van House and Nikki (Jason) Hobson; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Della Cowing; and his brother, Larry (Gwen) Van House.
