DOCKERY, William (Bill) of Davison, age 85, passed away July 14, 2010. Services will be held 11AM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Pastor Mark Gilson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Internment to follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Goodrich. He was born October 9, 1924 in Truman Arkansas, the son of the late James E. and Ethel (Cash) Dockery, they moved to Flint when he was a child. Bill enlisted in the Marines in 1942 and served his country during World War II. William married Myra Aileen Atherton on June 27, 1953. He retired from the City of Flint, then worked for M and B Construction. The family moved to a small farm in Durand in 1969. Aileen passed away in 1999, Bill remarried Winnie (Koester) Dockery on May 11, 2006 and moved to Davison. Willam loved to play pinochle, golf, fish, hunt and yes cutting wood. He did not like fruit cocktail and heights. His humor and opinion's were abundant. Bill is survived by his wife, Winnie Dockery; daughter Deanne Donley; son David (Becky) Dockery; grandchildren Devanee, Blake, and Brad; sister Mamie Teer. He was preceded in death also by his sons Christopher and Bradley; sister Drucilla Bois and brother; Zach, Chuck and Sam.
