Johnson, William Grice - Age 93, formerly of Swartz Creek, passed away July 17, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with his daughter, Rev. Barbara Benjamin and Steve Loy officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Memorial will be held at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society. William was born on January 5, 1933, in Swartz Creek, Michigan, the son of Grice and Lois (Ryan) Johnson. He graduated from Mandeville High School and later attended General Motors Institute. On June 19, 1954, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Tahash, in Grand Blanc. They shared nearly 64 years of marriage before Dorothy preceded him in death on June 1, 2018. William was the owner and operator of Gasser Engineering for many years, where he built a reputation for hard work and dedication. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He was an avid reader of Western novels and enjoyed woodworking, farming the family farm, hunting, and raising animals. William was a longtime member of the Linden Masonic Lodge. He and Dorothy spent many happy winters in Florida, and in recent years he made his home in Cadillac, where he was a faithful member of First Congregational Church. Surviving are: five children, Rev. Barbara (Raymond) Benjamin, Annette (David) Beckwith, Tina (Clarence) Ramberg; Michael Johnson, and good friend, Sue, and Susan Worden; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Hubbard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grice and Lois Johnson; wife, Dorothy Mae Johnson; two brothers, Ernie (Cita) Johnson and Robert (Mary) Johnson; brother-in-law, John Hubbard; son-in-law, Ronald Worden and grandson, Jeff Johnson.
