William Peterson

PETERSON, William John - age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, December 6, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 11, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes. Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Mr. Peterson was born July 18, 1937 in Keokuk, IA, the son of William and Ethel (Johnson) Peterson. He was a 1956 graduate of Argyle High School. William married Janet Lee Kelly on June 20, 1959 and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2011. He retired from Dupont Chemical as a Forklift Operator. Mr. Peterson was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, Past Master of the Claypool Lodge #13 F & AM in Ft. Madison, Iowa, and the Swartz Creek American Legion; two children, Tim William (Patricia) Peterson of Barry, IL; Christin Michelle Peterson of Swartz Creek; three grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb (Catherine) and Jesse Peterson; brothers, Irvin (Rosemary) Peterson of AL; Richard (Donna) Peterson of IA; brother-in-law, William (Susan) Kelly of MO; several nieces and nephews.
