William Daniel QUINN

QUINN, William Daniel - Age 87, of Owosso, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held 9:00 AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to Memorial Health Care Hospice or V.F.W. National Home for Children. Mr. Quinn was born January 17, 1926 in Owosso, the son of Joseph and Sarah (MacDonald) Quinn. He attended Bad Axe High School. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from the City of Detroit Forestry Department in 1980 after 30 years of service. Mr. Quinn has resided in Owosso for the past 8 years coming from Fenton. He was a member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post #3243 where he served on the Honor Guard. He was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan. Surviving are: nieces and nephews, Margaret (Peter) Pappas, Don (Murial) Quinn, Daniel Quinn, Lelend (Anne) Quinn, and Bonnie Sonneberg; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John MacDonald (Catherine) Quinn and Robert P. (Shirley) Quinn; sister, Peggy (George) Dhont; nephews, David Dhont and James Quinn.
