William Schultz (Bill), 72, of Linden Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on October 2, 2025, after a hard-fought battle against pancreatic cancer. Bill was a much-loved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be so very missed.
Bill was born in Saginaw, Michigan to Thaddeus Schultz and June (Guyott) Schultz. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1972. Always interested in electronic things, Bill’s first job was with a company called LaFayette Radio in Saginaw Michigan. Later he began his IT career in the 1980s, first selling and working with computers, then ultimately retiring from the City of Farmington Hills as their IT Manager in 2019. He was a member of the professional group Mi-GMIS and had the honor of serving as a board member for several years.
Bill married his wife Pamela Besiak in 1994, and they settled in Linden. Bill was known for many things computer related but he was equally as interested in his hobbies. He enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes (the Piper Cub his favorite) and was a member of the Holly Cloudhoppers club. He especially loved brewing craft beer, constantly perfecting his recipes, water profiles and brewing processes over the years. He became quite good at it and brewed many different styles of beer that he was happy to share. Many friends and family have enjoyed his beers over the years (a special annual conference comes to mind). A recently added hobby was buying and refurbishing vintage stereo equipment with an emphasis on the equipment he had once owned in the 1970s. His last interest was in designing and building a slot car racing track but unfortunately, he was unable to complete it.
Bill is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pam; son Joshua (special friend Vicki) of Rochester MI; brothers Ron (Cheryl) of Alamogordo NM, James (Sheila) of Madison MS; sister, Mary ( Doug) Jordan of St Charles, MI; sister-in-law Kenna Schultz of Huntsville, AL; and his mother and father- in law, Ruth and Joseph Besiak, Elk Rapids MI. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and his special Saturday night pool group.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, and brothers David and Tom Schultz.
Per Bill’s request, there will be no memorial service. Instead, in his honor, share a craft beer, a good bourbon or whiskey, a great dinner, listen to some good Blues. Perhaps think of him when you see a red Mustang convertible or a Piper Cub airplane.
Cremation was handled by Sharp Funeral Home in Linden.
