William F. TAYLOR

TAYLOR, William F. - age 84, of Swartz Creek, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 surrounded by his family. Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Rev. Kevin Harbin officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Swartz Creek Food Pantry. Bill was born November 27, 1929 in Bernie, MO, the son of E. Merrell and Bertha (Griffith) Taylor. He attended Flint Northern High School and was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. Bill married Sue Sheerin on May 10, 1958 and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2008. He retired from Buick Plant #36 in 1993 with 40 years of service as a machine repairman and was a member of U.A.W. Local 599. Bill was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church where he was an active volunteer. Surviving are: four children, Dawn (Craig) Golden of Swartz Creek, Paula (Alan) Stefanko of Davison, Bradley (Catherine) Taylor of Brighton, Jeffrey Taylor of Swartz Creek; 10 grandchildren, Erica, Emily and Elisa Taylor, Natalie and Zachary Golden, Vincent and Summer Stefanko, Olivia, Madeleine and Evan Taylor; sister, Janice (Bill) Lawrence; brothers-in-law, Paul (Aggie) Sheerin and George Rainey.
