William "Bill" Hathaway

HATHAWAY, William W. (Bill) - age 77, of Birch Run/Flint, passed away, May 21, 2020. Cremation services provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Bill was born, May 25, 1942 in Saginaw, the son of, William Francis and June Louise (Wallace) Hathaway.  He was a graduate of Birch Run High School in 1960. Bill joined the Flint Police Force in 1965. Bill retired from the Force as a Road Patrol Sergeant in 1993. He loved to hunt, fish, and take his boat out on Lake Huron. Bill was a long time member of the West Branch Moose Lodge. He was a dutiful and loving son. Bill was a loyal friend and companion who was always smiling and was never known to hold a grudge.

Bill is survived by: his life partner, Jean Holley of Martin, MI; three sisters, Willa Hayes of Traverse City, MI, Pamela Hathaway Abrahimzadeh of East Quoque, NY, and Paula Hathaway of Southampton, NY.; 8  nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and great grand nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by: parents, June and Bill Hathaway; sisters, Julie Ann and Laura Louise; nephews, Stephen Warnemuende and Christopher Hayes. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
