Xee Vang, age 55, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
A viewing and memorial service will be held at Hmong Heritage Hall from Saturday, August 8, 2026 through Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., also at Hmong Heritage Hall, located at G4138 Corunna Road, Flint, Michigan. A graveside service will immediately follow at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.
Xee was born on December 31, 1970, in Houa Phan, Laos. She married her beloved husband, Chong Yia Chang, and together they came to the United States on June 27, 1989, where they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family. Together, they raised four sons and one daughter.
Xee found her greatest joy in the outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting, and camping alongside her husband, creating countless cherished memories together. When she wasn't enjoying the outdoors, she found peace in tending to her garden and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family.
Her love also extended to the Hmong community. She faithfully served in supporting roles with the Hmong Oakland County Association, generously volunteering her time at community events. Proudly dressed in her traditional Hmong attire, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and support those around her.
Xee lived her life with an open heart and an outstretched hand, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, grace, generosity, and quiet strength. Her gentle presence brought comfort to everyone who knew her, and the warmth she shared with family, friends, and her community will forever be remembered.
Xee is lovingly survived by her husband, Chong Yia Chang; her sons, Wang, Cher, Tim, and Neng; her daughter, Bao; and her grandson, Soren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Saffron, as well as her brothers and sisters.
Though she is no longer with us, Xee's love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
