DONALDSON, Benjamin "Ben" Jr.- Age 88, Swartz Creek, died Tuesday February 11, 2020. Per the families wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Benjamin was born February 2, 1932 in Lincoln, Michigan the son of Benjamin Sr. and Bertha (Ostrum) Donaldson. He married Marlene Louise Gerding in Flint, on June 21, 1952. Ben worked at Flint Truck Assembly from 1950 - 1987 with 37 years of service. After Ben retired he worked at Durand Senior Citizens Center and for Meals on Wheels delivering food to seniors; also worked part-time at McDonalds in Durand. Ben enjoyed frequent luncheons at Burger King with their friends. He enjoyed working in his yard and

gardens, hunting, and was an avid U of M and Detroit Tigers fan. Ben was also a Golden Gloves participant for a few years.

Surviving are; wife of 67 years, Marlene Donaldson of Swartz Creek; sons, Rocky (Fay) Donaldson of Gaines, Mark (Diana) Donaldson of Grand Blanc, Tim ( April) Donaldson of Flushing; daughter, Tammy (Jim) Purves of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Rocky Jr., Kelly, Brian, Marcie, Ryan, Justin, Brooke, Nicole; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Megan Erickson, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
